Peeling tomatoes is made easy for you if you just follow a couple of simple steps. Tomatoes are a favorite summer vegetable or rather a fruit for many reasons.
What can I do with peeled tomatoes?
Some people cannot digest the skin of the tomato and the skin will remain in sauces or purées, if you do not remove it.
For these reasons here is how you can easily remove the skin in just a few minutes.
You can use them raw in salads, to make tomato sauce, to make stews or use them in many other ways.
Is tomato a fruit or a vegetable?

From a botanical point of view, tomato is a fruit, because the fruit is developed from a flower’s ovary and contains seeds.
From a culinary point of view, tomato is considered a vegetable primarily because it is not sweet and not usually used in desserts.
How to Peel tomatoes
⇒Remove any stickers and wash the tomato thoroughly.
⇒ Cut a shallow X on the bottom of the tomato.
⇒ Place a pot of water on the stove and bring it to a boil.
⇒ Put the tomatoes into the boiling water.
⇒ Boil for 30 seconds and remove them in a strainer.
⇒ Put them in cold water until they cool.
⇒ Peel back the skins with a knife or your fingers. (It’s much easier than what you see in the video because I was holding the camera with one hand and peeling with the other)!!!
⇒ Using a paring knife, remove the core of the tomato. The core is dark part on top of the tomato, which was attached to the stem.
⇒ Chop or puree the tomatoes, according to your needs.
Can I freeze the tomatoes?
The answer is YES!!!
First method:
After you peel them, cut them into cubes, put them in a container and store in the freezer.

Depending on the recipe, if for example you are making Kagianas.
Second method:
Puree them in a food processor and store in cups. Cover with cling film and store in the freezer.
