Ingredients we used today to make Chocolate Marshmallows:
- Chocolate ganache
- Colourful sprinkles
- Chocolate sprinkles
- Candied stars
- Mini Smarties
- Red Glitter
- Dessicated coconut
- Wooden Skewers
- Styrofoam block or parchment paper
How to make chocolate marshmallows
- Prepare the chocolate ganache. (Don’t add the salt and pepper in the ganache.
- Put the decoration materials in different bowls.
- The children will slide the marshmallows first onto the wooden skewers or toothpicks. If this children are too young for this, we will have them ready for them.
- They will then dip them in chocolate and one of the above decorating ingredients.
- You can then stick the skewers into a styrofoam block, which will allow the chocolate to dry and harden while also keeping it upright.
- If you don’t have a styrofoam, you can lay skewers flat on a sheet of parchment or wax paper, which will allow the chocolate to dry and harden while also keeping it from sticking to any surfaces.
Leftover chocolate ganache and decorating ingredients?
Don’t throw them away. We will make a very delicious different dessert!
Put some Petit Beurre biscuits in a flat container, add some chocolate ganache and some of the leftover decorating ingredients and cover with another biscuit.
Optionally if you have white chocolate, put one part chocolate and three parts cream to melt, in the same bowl as we made the ganache (this is why it will get a darker colour). Put a little on top and whatever other ingredients are leftover, for decoration.
And Voilà!
