A traditional Greek Quince Jam or Jelly (Marmelada Kydoni), using arbaroriza (fragrant geraniums) to flavour it.
It’s been raining all day today. It’s cold, gloomy and dark. What better than a comforting “ryzogalo” (Greek rice pudding)? When you think that traditional recipes can’t get any better, this one will blow your mind! It all started yesterday when going to the small supermarket in the village where I live to buy…
Kydoni (quince) is known from ancient years and its cultivation is said to have preceded that of the apple culture. Many references to «apples», in the ancient years may have been to a quince.
Glyko Kydoni (quince preserve) is one of my favourite autumn fruit preserve. Depending on the variety, once cooked it transforms into a nice pinkish to red colour and all its beautiful aroma is released.
