Happy New Year, with a glimpse in the future!!

It is New Year’s Day here in Greece, still early in the morning (almost noon), when most of the family is still asleep (still asleep).   Our friends in Australia are getting ready to party whereas in the United States, they are fast asleep (or just waking up).

I wanted to take a moment (it took me a couple of hours) to wish you all a Happy New Year. Thanks for your readership and friendship  in 2010.   I know I wasn’t around most of the time but I was committed on writing the cookbook, which took most of my time.  This year I hope to be more relaxed, but who knows?

As we move into 2011, instead of featuring recipes  I have posted, I thought it might be fun to look back quickly in my file of recipes I have made during the year and see what I had prepared but never found time to post.  New recipes will be created in 2011 so most of these recipes may never be posted, so at least you can have a glimpse of what I have made.

Agriogourouno =  Wild boar, in a sweet and sour sauce.

Kotopoulo Portokalato =  Roasted Chicken with Oranges

Boeuf Bourguignon

Savory Crepes Canelloni

Swedish Meatballs and Spaghetti but also Greek meatballs with spaghetti

Peinirli =  is a kind of an open pita or you can even describe it as a pizza shaped into gondolas which were introduced to the Greeks by the Greek Pontiacs.  Various fillings but with lots of cheese.

Savory Shortbread Sticks with Cheese and  Avocado

Elioti –  Olive and Rosemary Cake

Vegan Black Bean Spanakopita

Chicken Kiev with Piperies Florinis (red peppers)

Herb Crusted Perch

Green tzatziki

Poached Pears

Apple and Chocolate Roulade

Bougatsa = Home made pastry fillo filled with sweet cream

Pasta Frolla filled with chestnut puree and jam

Banana Cereal Raisin Muffins with Petimezi (grape molasses)

Chestnuts Spoon Sweet

Orange Spoon Sweet

Mixed Citrus:  Bitter Oranges, lemons & Oranges spoon sweet

Four citrusL:  Bitter oranges, Tangerines, Oranges and Lemons  Marmalade

I have lots of more recipes in my file to post but I have to stop here because the list never ends and I have to get up and cook New Year’s lunch = Marinated pork tenderloin with quince and other dried fruit.

Happy New Year! Wishing you health, blessings, joy, energy, love, peace, and unstoppable creativeness.
